Remember this? Monarch butterflies descended on Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in September 2018.
Now you have a unique opportunity to help support conservation efforts where it matters most.

Support Conservation. Adopt a Monarch!

Want to name your butterfly? Let us know when you checkout. Butterfly releases are a great, eco-friendly alternative to balloon or lantern releases in honor or in memory of loved ones.

Adoptions will be processed in the order in which they are received. You will receive a unique tag code and video when your monarch is ready to fly! Monarchs are being tagged and released throughout August and September, but potentially as late as October.

Because you will receive a unique tag code, this type of adoption is limited to the number of butterflies we have to release. If the website says that we are sold out, check back soon.

Have some fun this fall and Adopt a Monarch for $50. Funds raised help to support conservation efforts at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge including land restoration, youth services, and public access projects.
