Discover Ottawa Day 5K
Participate in a 5k Run/Walk on the Refuge for the first time ever! Registration ends July 12th and costs $20 per person for the 5K (shirts included). Would you rather run with the mascot of the National Wildlife Refuge System? We'll also have a mile fun run with Puddles the Blue Goose!
The course will be on the gravel hiking trails and provide you an opportunity to see a variety of habitats and wildlife. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the following age groups: 18 and under, 19-29, 30-45, and 45+. Each of these groups will also be awarded separately by gender. While leashed dogs and strollers are normally permitted on the hiking trails, during the 5K they are prohibited. This is a closed course with no vehicle traffic, so headphones are okay!
Not interested in running? As always, Discover Ottawa Day will also have fun games and food for everyone to enjoy! Youth fishing will be open on the front pond as part of the Fish with the Warden event.
