OTTAWA NWR EVENTS

There's lots to do at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Hike the 10 miles of trails, feel the sand between your toes on our natural beach, take a cruise on the monthly Wildlife Drive or check out one of our educational programs or events.

With COVID-19, our event calendar is up in the air. All refuge programs are cancelled until further notice.

As of now, the grounds remain open daily and the Wildlife Drive schedule for 2021 is as follows: 
  • January 16-17
  • February 20-21
  • March 20-21
  • April 17-19 and 30
  • May 1-16 and May 29-31
  • June: every Saturday and Sunday
  • July: every Saturday and Sunday
  • August: every Saturday and Sunday
  • September: Every Saturday and Sunday
  • October: closed
  • November: closed
  • December 5, 18-19

Gates open at sunrise and close one hour before sunset (weather permitting.)

The seasonal trails (Pool 1 connector, Woodies Roost, East portion of Metzger Marsh lakefront dike) are closed for the season. They will be open April 15-September 15.
