OTTAWA NWR EVENTS

There's lots to do at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. Hike the 10 miles of trails, feel the sand between your toes on our natural beach, take a cruise on the monthly Wildlife Drive or check out one of our educational programs or events.

Gates open at sunrise and close one hour before sunset (weather permitting.)

Hiking Trails
The seasonal trails (Pool 1 connector, Woodies Roost, East portion of Metzger Marsh lakefront dike) are open April 15-September 15. All other trails remain open from sunrise to sunset daily. Learn more here.

Shuttle Information
In 2022 the Friends purchased an electric shuttle to help mobility impaired visitors access their favorite parts of the refuge. All are welcome to join a tour or request a tour for your family, organization, or group. Learn more.
