Wildlife Drive Improvement Fund

Picture
Donate to improve the Wildlife Drive.

With your help, the Friends of Ottawa NWR and refuge staff have installed more pull-offs in strategic locations allowing you to view wildlife through "windows" in the habitat. We've also added interpretive signs in key locations, and improved directional signage to help visitors navigate the drive. Early exits on Krause Rd. and Ottawa-Lucas Rd. allow visitors to travel a portion of the drive if they choose. Additionally, the Wildlife Drive Improvement Fund helped to provide a portable restroom at the midway point.

The Wildlife Drive is typically open the third weekend of the month from sunrise to sunset, weather permitting. Additional dates may be scheduled during the summer months. For the schedule, visit the events page.

We raised the needed $25,000 in just six weeks to improve the Wildlife Drive. Thank you so much for your support! To make a donation to help support conservation and public use projects at the refuge, click the link below and be sure to share this gem with your friends!
