Ohio residents can support the refuge in a new way!

In 2016, Friends of Ottawa NWR started the process of obtaining an organizational license plate for Ohio’s only National Wildlife Refuge Complex. We gathered signatures from over 150 Ohioans who supported the idea. Representatives Gavarone and Arndt backed our license plate bill as it went before the House of Representatives and the Senate. On December 22, 2017, our bill was signed into law by Governor Kasich, granting us official permission to create an Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge license plate. Plates became available for purchase in Ohio BMVs starting March 23, 2018.
 
$20 of each plate purchased will directly support Friends of Ottawa NWR and conservation efforts at your National Wildlife Refuge.

Steps to replace your existing plate online:
  1. When your registration is due, log on to www.oplates.com and select "Ohio Plates."
  2. Follow the prompts to enter your information.
  3. You have the option to receive new plates. Select the Organizational Plate list and look for "Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge."
We love to see Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge plates around town! If you get a specialty plate personalized with alpha codes for birds, animal nicknames, or clever saying, we'd love to see. ​P.S. "Ottawa" is taken!
