The Two Masked Birders

This year Sherry and Peggy’s Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge birding and nature hiking plans were interrupted by Covid-19. To support the ONWR and understanding the seriousness of Covid-19’s impact on public safety and health, they decided to sew “Nature Series” masks and create a “Covid-19 Life Saver” raffle basket. They dubbed themselves “The Two Masked Birders’. Sherry and Peggy both retired from OSU’s Wooster Campus- the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, OH, where Sherry managed the Honey Bee Lab and Peggy conducted Coronavirus research. Many of the fabrics used in sewing the masks feature bees from Sherry’s fondness for bees in her many Honey Bee Lab projects. Sherry and Peggy wish everyone a safe and healthy lifestyle and to explore and enjoy nature!
